The 58th Chicago International Film Festival will kick off 12 days of premiere screenings, filmmaker Q&As, panels, workshops, and much more with the opening night ChiFilmFest Block Party. So for one night only, walk the red carpet and enjoy food trucks, music, games, and more to celebrate North America’s longest-running competitive film festival. This one-night event aims to bring together the film-loving community across the city. The Block Party is a free event, open to the community, so everyone can gather to celebrate the films.

The Block party will take place on Southport between Waveland and Grace on October 12th from 5 – 10 pm. The event takes place near the Music Box Theater where opening night films will screen at 7:00 pm and 10:00 pm; this event requires a ticket. The festival offers a unique opportunity for attendees to marvel at films created by masters and innovative works by first-time filmmakers. In addition, attendees of the 12-day festival will have the chance to meet the artists behind the films, including directors, actors, and other special guests, to discuss their work. So come out and welcome another year of the Chicago Film Festival with the ChiFilmFest Block Party and experience the magic of movies!
