“How can I describe it? Good food is like music you can taste, color you can smell. There is excellence all around you. You need only to be aware to stop and savor it.” Gusteau

Looking for a delicious way to spend a late summer evening? Join us at the Music Box Theatre for Good Taste Tastes Good, A 4-Film Series celebrating the intersection of the culinary and cinematic arts from around the world.

Jon Favreau’s CHEF, inspired by and produced in collaboration with Los Angeles based chef Roy Choi, contains some of the most mouth watering food preparation sequences in cinema. Beautiful dishes from Miami’s Little Havana, Franklin’s BBQ in Austin Texas, Cafe du Monde in New Orleans pair excellently with salsa music and delta blues following a rebellious chef’s cross country road trip in a restored 1980’s food truck.

Explore high-end kitchens and beautiful French dishes and ingredients,  through the story of rat cursed with an excellent sense of taste and smell, who joins forces with a human hospitality worker to discover new culinary possibilities in Brad Bird’s animated classic RATATOUILLE.

Juzo Itami’s film TAMPOPO is an infusion of genre, sensuality, and the gastronomical arts. Weaving together old Hollywood pastiche with surreal elements, the story concerns the meeting of a dairy truck driver and a Ramen shopkeeper on a journey to discover the perfect noodles.

An authentic italian restaurant suffering under the weight of American expectation and debt, decides to beat the competition by putting on a big night of food, wine and entertainment. Stanley Tucci co-wrote, directed and starred in the 1996 independent film BIG NIGHT. Come see it on 35mm!
