For the Love of Tap marks Chicago Tap Theatre’s return to the Athenaeum Theatre and the first show of their 19th Season. CTT’s passion for tap dance has been a sustaining force for the dancers and choreographers through the past two years, and all that pent-up love will spill onto the Athenaeum stage. Featuring all live music from some of Chicago’s finest musicians, CTT will share this love as they take audiences on a journey through some of the Company’s most beloved work, including Moonlight, Alfonso Muskedunder, and Brenda Bufalino’s masterpiece Flying Turtles (last performed here in 2014) along with brand new pieces of rhythmic sophistication and joy, including the premiere of a new commission from Star Dixon. Following its live debut, this show will premiere virtually Friday, March 4 at 7 pm and be available to view on-demand through March 13.
